Irwin mango, also known as apple mango, are a tropical fruit with orange to red skin, large size, and ball-like shape. They are the same variety as the Miyazaki mango, also known commonly as taiyo no tamago (egg of the sun), which are commonly sold for $50 to $1000 in Japanese markets. These mangoes are fragrant and sweet with a nearly fiber-free flesh that practically melts in the mouth. Irwin mangoes are native to Florida with a limited season.
